For me, spring reading means pulling out the cozy mysteries, contemporary romance, and historical fictions. It was difficult to narrow down my reading list to just seven books. One is coming out this year while the rest have been taking up space on my shelf ready to be read! A few of my book selections for this spring are also apart of My Top Ten Books I Want to Read in 2023, so give that a read if you haven’t yet to see some of the books I want to get to this year!
Another romance novel from the one and only Emily Henry! I’ve been such a fan of Henry’s writing style over the years as she makes me laugh out loud at her signature witty banter between her characters. I’ll always pick up her books. Her favorite novel of mine is Beach Read!
2. PART OF YOUR WORLD by Abby Jimenez
Two very different people from two very different worlds come together as a result of a roadside mishap and their chemistry is instant. I recently started reading this one and I’m loving everything about it! Jimenez’s writing style is easily digestible and keeps me wanting to read just one more chapter. Can’t wait to see how this one ends!
3. LESSONS IN CHEMISTRY by Bonnie Garmus
We love women in STEM! This historical fiction follows Elizabeth Zott as she navigates being the only female chemist amongst her counterparts in the early 1960’s. I don’t reach for many historical fictions, but ever since reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, I’ve been eager to get my hands on another!
4. FINLAY DONOVAN IS KILLING IT by Elle Cosimano
This cozy mystery has been on my TBR for quite some time now and I’m really looking forward to getting to it! Finlay is a struggling author and single mother of two who is behind on her book deadline. One day in a coffee shop someone overhears her talking about the plot of her newest book, a suspense novel, when Finlay is mistaken for a contract killer and is asked to “handle” a problematic husband. A quirky thriller that I can’t wait to crack open!
5. THE LOVE HYPOTHESIS by Ali Hazelwood
Another leading lady in a STEM novel! The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood has been raved about for what feels like over a year. Centered around Olive, a third year Ph. D. candidate and a professor, Adam, who has been loosely inspired by Adam Drier, this fake dating story has captured the hearts of so many.
6. DAISY JONES & THE SIX by Taylor Jenkins Reid
I feel like this one needs no explanation. With the new TV show out, this is the perfect time to pick this one up. I’ve always been a fan of reading the book and then watching the on screen adaptation, and this is no different. I hope this historical fiction lives up to its rave reviews!
7. GET A LIFE CHLOE BROWN by Talia Hibbert
I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about this book! Chloe Brown has a list of life fulfilling things she wants to complete before she dies and one of them is to do something bad. Since being bad isn’t her forte, she looks to handyman Redford Morgan to teach her how accomplish her goal. I’ve only heard great things about Talia Hibbert’s writing style in this rom-com!
