August is officially over and I couldn’t be more excited. It’s horrifically hot here in Charleston and the cooler weather could not get here fast enough. So in spirit of looking forward to the change of weather, my most loved apparel pieces from this past month are more transitional in tone while being light weight for the grueling temperatures.
One of my favorite additions has to be this silk scarf. I’ve always liked adding scarf to the handle of my handbag for a seasonal accent. The tones and design are timeless, allowing it to go with so many different types of bags! Also a fun piece to wear around your neck in the cooler months. I have been on the hunt for a neutral pointed toe flat that is comfortable for what feels like years now. I spotted these Birdies in the store and had to try them on immediately. The true slipper feeling flat has a sleek design that allows it to be worn dressed up or dressed down. These green sunnies are the perfect hue for autumn. The shape is comfortable and the frames are lightweight. Here is another pair that is more affordable for a similar look for.
I finally caved and got the cup. Yes, THE cup that everyone has been going crazy over since it came out. While I do enjoy it, do I think that you absolutely MUST have it? Especially if you already have an absorbant amount of cups to begin with (like myself)? Ehh, maybe not- but I will say that the handle on the cup is a huge game changer. It also fits SO much better in the cup holders in my car. The rubber insert doesn’t stick to the cup like many of my other tumblers. If you have the opportunity to purchase this I definitely recommend it. However, I wouldn’t suggest paying over the retail sticker for this one.
For the home, this piece just brings me so much joy. I love the diversity of where you can place this in your house as well as the simplicity of the abstract floral design and the calming tones. Would love to put this in our primary bathroom or guest bedroom. This small vanity mirror is antique inspired with its hammered detailing along the side. Great to add to a countertop or dresser for a quick touch-up before walking out of the door.
