Rounding up my Amazon picks inspired by another Nancy Meyers’ movie: Something’s Gotta Give. This is another classic Nancy film that so many people swoon over the interiors. I mean, a beach house in the Hamptons is something to swoon over but when it’s owned by a famous playwright played by Diane Keaton, whose style is just as timeless as her home, we’re obsessed! I think when people think of the term “coastal grandmother” this movie is one of the first things that come to mind. The coastal, chic lifestyle mixed with the relaxed yet polished feel makes this movie an all time favorite.
The first room I think about when it comes to Something’s Gotta Give is that dreamy two story living room full of cream and blue hues. This blue and white stripe rug reminds me so much of that living room and what anchors all that is in it. Keeping with the cream upholstered furniture I love the look of this bench and it’s such a great price! This swivel chair is another piece that reminds me of that warm, inviting room. You can buy a single for $230 or a set of two for under $500- one of the lowest prices I’ve ever seen for a swivel chair. Something I’ve come to notice about Nancy Meyers and her set designs is that she loves using all kinds of lamps. Floor lamps, desk lamps, table lamps, etc. This black floor lamp with a linen shade is one that I could envision in the office- also under $50!
If there’s one styling piece you’re going to find in the Something’s Gotta Give home, it’s going to be candles. Taper candles, candles in glass hurricanes, votive candles- you name the candle, it’s in that house. This set of three glass hurricanes comes in at $70 and has great reviews. I love that these hurricanes are all different heights and the shape has such a timeless feel. Flowers can be found on just about every surface of this home. I love the look of these faux tulips– I have these and they look so realistic! The use of silver metals is heavy in this movie- from polished nickel to brushed nickel on faucets and light fixtures this easy and elegant finish is used all over this house. These wall lamps would look so lovely over a bedside table. Mint julep cups can be seen holding flowers on the kitchen island throughout the movie and this set of two for under $30 is perfect.
