Nancy Meyers’ “It’s Complicated” Decor From Amazon

Nancy Meyers has always been known for her early 2000’s rom-coms and her timeless interiors. I’ve decided to start a series of blog posts where I select interior decor from Amazon that is inspired by her movies. Starting with my favorite of hers: It’s Complicated. There’s so much I adore about this movie- the cast, the location, the plot, and of course the stunning interior styling. When I think about the interiors in It’s Complicated, I think about warm hues, greenery mixed with herbs, terracotta, sleek metals, and the outdoors coming indoors.

These bright green faux hydrangea stems are a great accent to the warm, bold tones seen in the film. I love the idea of pairing these in a textured vase. In the film, there seems to be so much individual seating for entertainment. This striped upholstered arm chair looks so inviting and cozy. Layers are another interior characteristic that Meyers applies in all of her spaces. Through the use of natural textures, different metals, and decorative items are some ways she layers to give that “lived in” look. Pattern pillows, coffee table books, and multiple lamps are some of the ways to give your space that layered, cozy feel. I love the look of this metal floor lamp– the shape of the base gives it a timeless sense of character. The dreamy marble kitchen counter (not to mention how lovely the entire kitchen is) is always a standout to me every time I watch the movie. This marble tray would be a great addition to our bathroom vanity, dresser, or nightstand as a jewlery tray or catch-all.

I’m a firm believer that every space needs to have black accents- whether if that’s an abstract painting, a metal curtain rod, or a small decorative pieces. This black iron candle holder is a favorite of mine in my living room and one that I come back to again and again when styling. I purchased these picture frames in gold a few months back and they are SO good. I love them so much, I had to include them in silver for this post. These frames looks aged upon arrival and gives character to any space they’re hung in. Because Meryl Streep’s character in the movie is a chef who loves to entertain, it only felt right to include a serving piece. This large wooden salad bowl is such a pretty dark hue that pairs great with any tablescape.
