Setting the Table for Thanksgiving

11.07.23

One of my favorite holidays is right around the corner! Thanksgiving has always been so special to me. A day to gather with your loved ones and give thanks while eating all the delicious food around the table. Something I look forward to during this time of year are all the festive tablescapes. Setting the tone for the holiday with a gorgeous table is another labor of love I enjoy on Thanksgiving (and any holiday for that matter). This year’s concept is a mix of traditional style with warm and inviting modern and mid-century details.

Laying out the foundation of your tablescape sets the tone and feel for the overall design. The eyelet detail adds a feminine and minimalistic touch which allows for more elaborate decor on the tabletop without feeling too overwhelmed.

Give breath of life to your table decor with some greenery! This can be real or faux, but I love the addition of dried fruit to a table garland. Add warmth and color by mixing in dried oranges, lemons, pears or limes.

A must for me when it comes to a tablescape are name cards. Not only does the design of the name card give more personality to the table but it also shows the intentional act of having people invited into your home. It says “You have a place here.”, and who doesn’t love that?

This has and I think will always be my go-to placemat. I have used it in numerous tablescape concepts now and I just love it. The texture, tone and shape are all wins in my book.
