It’s finally time to bring out some long awaited reads I have been saving for this fall season. As I’ve said before I’m a huge seasonal reader. I love to curl up with a cozy atmospheric book during the cooler fall months to get me into the spirit of the season. There are SO many books that I’m looking forward to reading it’s hard to narrow it down to a select few. Psychological thrillers, mysteries, and fantasies, are some of the genres I tend to reach for this time of year. One genre that I’m looking forward diving more into is middle grade fantasies. These books include monsters, witches, goblins, and many other chilling and whimsical characters that are perfect to read for the spooky season. There is a sense of nostalgia that comes with these novels. The wonder and adventure felt when you were younger reading about mystical characters in far places can still be felt when reading these novels. Being transported to magical places with odd characters is what draws me to picking these books up during the autumnal months, when whimsy and spookiness are being celebrated!

THE VERY SECRET SOCIETY OF IRREGULAR WITCHES by Sangu Mandanna; Mika Moon must keep her powers a secret to the outside world, however someone finds out and calls her to train three children on how to control their magical abilities.
DAISY DARKER by Alice Feeney; Daisy Darker’s estranged family comes together to celebrate their Nana’s 80th birthday at her dark, coastal home when suddenly her family members start getting killed one by one.
THESE FLEETING SHADOWS by Kate Alice Marshall; Helen’s grandfather passed away leaving his entire fortune to her. However, there is one condition: she must live in his creepy mansion, that has always haunted her dreams, for one full year in order to receive the full inheritance.
